Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare – Cactus Character Modeling

Inspired by one of my favorite games, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, I modeled, created materials and did lighting for the cactus character which I loved. All from scratch.

The Project - in focus

Clay Model

This is the clay model to view the form and shape of the model without the distracting materials. Also helps see how light bounces off of it.

Topology Model

This is the topology model to showcase the clean topology that the model is made up of. The model makes use of quad topology and subdivision to create a higher resolution model. The topology is dense and not suitable for game use without optimization.

The Final Render

This was the final result after adding in some scenic fog to catch the light, bloom effects and using the EEVEE rendering engine for rendering. There is a variation that uses the Cycle rendering engine for a more realistic look in the gallery below.
